Jokulsarlon Lagoon

The Jokulsarlon Lagoon is considered one of the natural wonders of Iceland. It is a large glacial lake that has grown at varying rates because of Iceland's melting glaciers. The size of the lake (814 feet deep) has grown fourfold since the 1970's. Huge blocks of ice that calve from the edge of the glacier (Vatnajokull) fill the lagoon with naturally sculpted icebergs. Given the rate of calving, it is estimated that in the near future, there is probably going to be a deep fjord where the glacier now stands. Isn't is swell that there is no global warming??
