A Gentle Man

This man was so kind allowing us to photograph him. He was indeed a gentle man. The bullet hole in the wall behind him, by contrast, provided an element of incongruity to this scene.

I really like your color version of this man - I choose to do him in black and white and I removed the hole in the wall - I like that he is looking out of the frame - it seems to me as if the image says - we all have a future to look forward to, no matter how old we are.

I love your portraits. The color first of all is so representative of the southwest with that turquoise wall. Hope the bullet hole is NOT representative of that area though... it's interesting that it kind of looks like a tiny heart. You got the light on the man's face just the right amount so that his features are shown off yet he doesn't pop out of his background. Is this someone who you met along the way? He should be proud to have this fine portrait of himself by you...hope you can send him a copy some way.
