Sometimes it can be a little confusing trying to explain to people unfamiliar with the area that there are TWO Jamestown locations - the original site on Jamestown Island and the reconstructed one nearby. Jamestown is also often spelled Jamestowne. These pictures were taken at Jamestown Settlement - the reconstructed one. It's a living history museum and has costumed interpreters who help educate and demonstrate. There's a lot to see and do here - not just the reconstructed areas and ships. There are also wonderful galleries. These pictures were taken during our visit back for the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown- birthplace of America.
