Thank you for the pictures of Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Belmont County, OH. I am beginning to research the cemetery as it is the site of the first Pleasant Grove Protestant Meth. Church. If anyone is knowledgeable about the first church and cemetery I would appreciate it if you would contact me.
I will use your pictures as a reference for the history of the church. The pictures are well-taken. I will also be working on the illegible stones and probing, etc. so that I can document the cemetery as much as possible. Tammy Hosenfeld, Jefferson County Chapter of the Ohio Gen. I notice that in your blog in the Daughertys of River Portal, you give Thomas's son Edward Daugherty and his wife Ethel (nee Beatty) as living with inlays. I am sure that you are aware that these are the parents of James Dougherty (1921-2005) whose claim to fame is that he was the first husband of Marilyn Monroe. Regards Denis Bergin (Birr, Co. I'm so excited! Aside from my family your family was my favorite to research! I can't wait to write & chat .... as soon as the fire mess here cleans up. Just saw your message. Huge fire in my city right now. :(

WOW! Your blogs and pictures have moved me in indescribable ways! My husband & I recently moved to WV from the Montrose/Delta, CO area. He learned just this week his ggg-grandfather was born in WV. So, I decide to do a little looking on the internet for his ancestors. I stumbled across your blog about River Portal. My husband is a descendant of the Dougherty family in your stories! I want to thank you for such vivid stories and a lead as to where his family came from!

Thank you for posting your pics. All are very lovely. I visit the Historic Triangle a lot and Jamestowne Historic Island is my favorite site. I just love walking around the island, visiting the Glasshouse and trying to make some sense of what happened there. It's a very moving experience for me. Thanks again. Keep taking those pictures!!

Was surfing the net and plugged in Pleasant Grove, Ohio and found this treasure. You have a picture of my great Grandfather and Great Grandmother's graves, Ishmael and Elvira Beck (my maiden name is Beck). My grandfather was Ishmael's son. My grandfather, Charles Wesley Beck, lived his entire life in Pleasant Grove, Ohio. He passed away at age 99 in 2007. I remember visiting this cemetary as a child with my Grandmother! Thank you for taking the time to post these pictures.

Thank-you for posting your pictures. I think the internet makes it so much easier to share -- and sharing family history is one of our favorite things to do, isn't it?

Hi,

Thanks for the welcome to Colorado Pictures. I've been to Colorado a couple of times by car. It's impossible to take a poor picture of that area; It's so gorgeous. I'm from Ohio. Nothing like your area though.

Donna,

Thank you for visiting my gallery and posting the link to yous. I love to see other folks pictures of the festival. You have so many wonderful pictures in your gallery. I am sorry that I missed Captain Jack, three times in a row including today. It was raining so hard so we did not stay very long. I did manage to get a few pictures.
