On previous visits through this region of France we had spent a few days in order to fully explore the region. This time around however we only had an afternoon available so all we visited were the Chateau de Chambord and Chateau de Chenonceau before moving on to Bourges.
Bourges is a very old city dating back to Roman days. The cathedral of St Etienne of Bourges is a huge Gothic style structure and is very old, with construction starting in 1195. It is still in use to this day although it has had significant repairs along the way.
