Antarctic Peninsula, Falkland Islands, South Georgia, South Sandwich Islands and National Park Tierra del Fuego.

From 01-11-2013 till 23-11-2013 I sailed for 23 days with the MV Ortelius (Oceanwide Expeditions) in the Antarctic waters. A once in a lifetime experience with close encounters with wildlife and astonishing scenery. Also experiencing sometimes large swell with waves up to 8 meters. Fortunately, Scopoderm prevent me from suffering seasickness.

Before boarding on 01-11-2013, I spent 1½ day birding in the area around Trelew and Puerto Madryn (Argentina).
After boarding in Puerto Madryn, the Ortelius set off early evening for the Falkland Islands. Once arrived, we had landings at Carcass Island and West Point Island. Next destination was South Georgia (landings at Salisbury Plain, Grytviken, Saint Andrews Bay and Gold Harbour and a zodiac cruise at Gold Harbour), next the South Sandwich Islands (landing at Saunders Island) and finally the Antarctic Peninsula (zodiac cruise Elephant Island and landings at Penguin Island, Neko Harbor, Port Lockroy and Deception Island). From Deception Island we sailed via the Drake Passage back to Ushuaia (Argentina) where we disembarked early morning on 23-11-2013.

Next I stayed for 4 nights in Ushuaia where I spend most of the time in the National Park Tierra del Fuego.
