A male crab spider of Family Thomisidae, possibly genus Misumenops.

The spiders are strictly hunters/ambushers; they do not build
webs. Some can change their color to match their background.

Found on a gall in Leather Oak in the Santa
Cruz Mountains of Santa Clara County, California.
