Arroyo Lupine, Lupinus succulentus

Arroyo Lupine, Lupinus succulentus, Family: Fabaceae.

Vernacular names: Arroyo Lupine, Hollowleaf Annual Lupine, Succulent Lupine.

Note deep purple flowers, reddish vertical zone with yellow spot at base; hairless leaflets.

Native to California; range mainly West of Sierras, also South.

Specimen found at Oka Ponds, Santa Clara County, also common at Edgewood; gone by mid-May.
