Genista Broom Moth, Uresiphita reversalis, caterpillar
So called because it lays its eggs on, and the larvae consume, the leaves of French Broom, Genista
monspessulana. French Broom is an invasive plant, worse in many places than Scotch Broom.
Question: Does the moth inhibit or enhance the spread of this weed? I don't see that the moth
is doing much damage to the plants, which continue to invade the margins of our woodlands.
