Southern Alligator Lizard, ticks

Gerrhonotus multicarinatus multicarinatus -- This is the California subspecies of
the Southern Alligator Lizard. Note that Northern Alligator Lizard also occurs here.

Can't tell if the ticks are Deer Ticks or Wood Ticks -- the pattern disappears when they
start to fill up with blood. Both tick species are common in the area, especially in May.

Well, I didn't know ticks would be on a lizard. Nice documentation. My garden in the Great Smoky Mountains attracted several species of lizards. See the Anolis Carolinensis uploads here or at Redbubble.comJeffeeArt4u
