Luscar's Char Plant

We were at a service call to do some repairs to the D7R XR Tractor. So I thought it would be a good time to shoot some images under the conditions this machine works in. We mounted the rad on the roof of the D7R as the coal dust sand blast's the rad and after about 2 years it's shot.
As we had the D7R down the D10R took over for the afternoon. The sunset was also great so I had to capture a few images of this also..........your comments are most welcome...enjoy...Mike

The machine crushes the coal under its tracks. A point of interest, it cannot work in Char, only in Coal, Char is the sticky product on the other side of the production line.

I worked in a coal plant at a coal-fired power plant in Alberta for 25 years. We never had dust problems like that! Why is the coal crushed so fine? Is it just the type of coal they have there?
