It's been 5 years since Dad was diagnosed with bone cancer. He passed away May 28th 2002 with me at his side.
This is the last image I ever took of him in April 2002 when we all went out for supper.
Dispelling the pain Dad could still crack a smile. I get a little down about this time each year thinking of the news he got that week. Dad was a great teacher to everyone that met him and would help anyone out. It was fun to watch Dad work in the home studio and later in other studios of different owners. I used to help him by shooting the church part of the wedding and then come back and help with the "formals" at the studio. "Mike" he would say "Check this, is it in focus", "Yup Dad look's fine to me" I would say. He would then start shooting....I often wonder what dad would have thought about the "digital age" he just missed it before it got big. I remember bringing my new Nikon F5 over for him to look at AF, 8FPS....man he was impressed. I shot this image with my Nikon F80 and now reshot it with my D200......This ones for you Dad.......Love Mike
