Started in slides with my brother's old fully manual 35mm Topcon in about 1980, but soon switched to Nikon. I had two Nikon FEs, one with Kodachrome64 and the other eventually with Fujichrome400. Wanted to try Kodachrome25 for its small grain size, but never did. Too expensive. Bought a Nikon D70 in 2004. Still have a bit of the film mind set, where every one has to count (at almost a $1.00 per slide I tried not to waste any), besides, I don't want to spend hours in front of the computer choosing between dozens of almost identical photos.
Really like your photos, especially 'painting with light'.

Sort of sad, but, having used both film and digital - good bye film! I first started taking lots of railroad pics with 35mm when I was raising a family. My poor wife would go to the grocery store and pick up my developed pics and groceries. I would have to pacify her when she came home and said the developing cost nearly what the groceries did!!

It's a shame digital is so easy and cheap. I bought an Elan II film body last year for backup uses at weddings and it only has 2 rolls ever put thru it. I know nothing about film though. I'm a digital era kid.

Film....uggh. When I first got into photography in the late 80s I ended up getting priced out because developing was so expensive. Three rolls of film for a few good pictures. Digital is for me. Nice shot and cool story.
