There has recently been an article posted on the Veterans Affairs Canada website which has an audio interview with my grandfather telling of his experiences in WW1. If you type in his name 'Pat Gleason' you will be able to listen to some interesting stories and also a short summary which was written by my father Tom Gleason, about one year ago.
Thanks for the postings with the info about Tonkin.

I knew your Grandfather, Pat Gleason. The post office is now a work shop owned by Ken Fookes. The curling rink is still a popular place.

Hi,
My grandparents used to live in Tonkin, could anyone tell me what is left there, I have heard that is virtually a ghost town?? My grandfather used to run the post office and gas station.
