This, at first glance is a sad old hanger, with its one eye above.
Yet it is a handsome design, simple and effective and the shadow thrown upwards accentuates its shape.
It looks as though it has been tied, with a venerable piece of string, to this old painted door for some time.
Long enough for the faint tracks of its swinging days to have marked the cracked surface.
I admire this picture and, like Inga, wonder about the story.
Very powerful Mike...it leaves me wondering about the wall it's hanging on. Is this near a door? In a kitchen or back entrance perhaps. Who's old ragged coat once hung there. I wonder.
