Just Fine 8809

I have been waiting to shoot a C.P. train for sometime at the Secretan curve.
Secretan SK. is all but a ghost town now but offers up a cool highway bridge and three sets of tracks.
Well I pass this 5800 footer at about Herbert and get to Secretan and wait............
To my surprise C.P. 8809 is coming to a stop here to hold for a 7800 ft West bound.
I capture a few images as she comes to a stop....yup i'm on C.P. land for sure and the engineer flags me over.....
Crap I think to myself, I'm in big doodoo now.....It's going to be a fine....
The conductor comes out and shouts "Want to come in?"......Hell ya I say.
So we have a chat inside 8809 and I capture a few inside shots......
This made my day..so this is an image of that C.P. Comfort Cab and the engineer looking out over the Secretan crossing.
oh and that little black box in the window is a camera that captures a photo of every crossing as they blow the horn.

What an opportunity - glad to see that you didn't waste it. Great shot, and complete with the Tim's coffee.

Mike, I don't know about the CP, but the BNSF and UP cameras run all the time, not just for road crossings. If you ever saw they tape of the head-on crash in California, you can see what I mean. Glad that you got a chance to get up in the cab. This one thing about the CP people. They are friendly. You do not see that down here in the states.
Great shot. Gary

What good luck, Mike. As they say, "Good luck is the result of good planning". And, I might add, a bit of good luck :-)

A site you don't see every day. Very cool wide interior shot with nice details and great control of the highlights. I can see how this made your day. "V"
