A School Once Was

I was sad to see this as I was watching out for a old school house on the left of the highway.
Ya I had it marked in my GPS but never really checked the location so I drove right by.
I knew I had missed the location so I doubled back after I looked it up in the GPS.
Yup this were it took me and on the way by the first time the field looked familiar.
So this is the area 2 years from the last time I captured it less the school seen here.

So very beautiful in this haunting way...I love the transition of color in the field, from browns to greens...and of xourse this gives way to that magnificent sky...wow! Huge vote! v.

The dark cloud seems to portray the feeling of the school being gone. Well done.

Beautiful shot but sad to see the old school house gone. The sky is amazing! BraVo, Mike!

I have had this happen too! Like all the time on my turf! There was a barn down in Oregon that I shot every time I drove by - The last time they were tearing it down and loading it on a dump truck as I took my last shot! Sometimes is just a feeling of something is missing! Then when I check last years photos and sure enough - something else bit the dust! It just one more example of why photography is so important!

Well, the tree is still there, don't see why you past it by the first time! :-) I like that dark cloud!

Yeah Mike, I know that feeling you get right in the gut when this happens... If it's any consolation, this shot ROCKS!

A dramatic landscape though! Well done. Voted.

I have had this experience a couple of times recently and am always disappointed. I am not sure what I find the most disappointing though: that I have lost a subject, or that others do not see the value in these bits of local history.

Another fine sample of history lost. (I looked like a nice one-roomer too [down towards Northgate?]) Super lighting effect Mike.

Cool shot Mike. Surreal lighting and a great looking sky. Have a great weekend!
