NGC7023 - Iris Nebula

This is the finished NGC7023 - Iris Nebula image with 18x10 minutes Luminance and 13x10 minutes each of Red, Green and Blue. It was taken with an FLI Microline 8300 and Takahashi FSQ106ED over three nights. The nebula gets its name due to its shape and colour resembling an iris flower, the surrounding patches of pale grey and brown colour are dust in space. The nebula lies approximately 1,300 light years away in Cepheus and is approximately 6 light years across
