In 2003 I photographed an Orange Ball Corallimorph spawning eggs ( https://pbase.com/imagine/image/23838720). It was the first time I had witnessed a corallimorph spawning and afterwards I would always keep an eye out during spawning season for this behavior. In 2004 I wasn't fortunate enough to witness any corallimorphs spawning. In August and September 2005 I saw numerous Orange Ball Corallimorphs spawning (smoking only). Here is an example of one with smoke filled tentacles... https://pbase.com/imagine/image/48496906.
This particular Orange Ball Corallimorph pictured here I have seen many times. Here is a photo of it before it started dividing... https://pbase.com/imagine/image/47458021. I find it very interesting that the color of the balls is different! You can also notice in the 4th photo a second very small orange ball corallimorph just above the dividing one. Last year the body of that tiny one was the size of my pinky fingernail and it still is very small.
