Pt. Lobos, Monterey County, CA
We lucked into this rare sighting while just beginning our journey back to the car, we
ran across a birder who asked if we were there for this owl sighting. He then gave us
precise instructions on how to find it. This owl is very small and blends in with the
bark of the tree. He was very cooperative, yet very difficult to photograph.
