Thanks Bill. The flash was working pretty hard to compete with the sun. I was trying to stay within the sync limits of the camera and still balance the ambient with the aperture. Closing down the aperture directly cuts into the flash effect. It was a good learning experience.

Dale, this is excellent use of fill flash - the fill looks as if it's from a well placed reflector. I'm a little embarassed to admit I posed a bit for this one once I noticed John's and Chester's elbows. The angle of the final shot here has a cool feel to it. Bill G
