Each fawn has a numbered tag in its ear and a corresponding bottle with the same number. They had to keep track of the age of the fawn so they knew how many ounces to feed it (as it matured it got more milk). The other thing was after feeding the very young ones, you had to use a Baby Wipe and "wipe its butt", which is what the mother doe does in the wild, to stimulate it urinating.
