Solo

Arlington, Texas

On July 4, 2008, Coke lost his brother Jack who escaped from the yard and was hit by a car. Of the two, Jack was the more adventurous, but seldom left Coke's side being the more protective one of the two. We don't know why Jack escaped the yard leaving Coke, but we are very glad that Coke stayed in the yard.

My brother was at our house when he received the call and headed for the Pet Emergency Clinic where Jack was put to sleep from his severe injuries. This picture of Coke was taken shortly afterwards as my dad and husband were helping my brother bury Jack.

Coke has always been a little skittish, but you could tell that he knew something was wrong when he couldn't be outside with my brother, there were strange people in the house at two o'clock in the morning, and Jack was nowhere to be found. At least he will soon have a playmate again when my brother marries his fiancée. In the meantime, I am sure that he and my brother will mourn the loss of their friend together.

Sad story. Sorry for the loss. It's a beautiful photo though. Really well done.

OK, what does your brother want? If we have it I can make it happen! I'm like Scott I can make animals disappear from our records. When the time is right we will do a late (midnight run)

Oh no! This makes me cry! I love animals so much. This is so sad. I'm sure your brother and Coke will help each other through this. They are like kids...it is hard to get past their death. Big hugs all around!

My deepest sympathy is with your family at this time. It is always hard to lose such a loving member. Jack will have friends at the Rainbow Bridge though. Tell him to say hello.

Please convey to your family that they are in our thoughts. We are very sorry for their loss. Seriously, Jason has some very cute pups up for rescue at the shelter!

So very, very sorry about the family's loss. Losing a pet is heart wrenching, no matter what the circumstances but these are particularly hard stats for you guys. So very sorry. I hope Coke gets a new playmate soon... I hear Officer Ellis has access to a never ending supply of excellent puppies...... :-) *hug* Hang in there, little guy.
