A native of Taichang, Jiangsu, Zhang graduated from the Chinese painting departement of
the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Since 1989, he has been awarded several merits in various
exhibitions and his works are collected by the China Museum of Art and Shanghai Art Museum.
A number of solo exhibitions had been held in Japan and Taiwan and his painting album was also
published. Zhang teaches in the Fine Arts Department of the Shanghai Normal University and
serves as a member of the Chinese Artists' Association.
