This is the best image I've seen from anyone in quite a while! The crop (no pun intended) is perfect and the rich colour is superb. Composition is perfect and the depth DoF is just deep enough to capture the ear's neighbours and hint at what may be hidden in the blurred region. Great bokeh, fantastic texture and good use of rule of thirds. It's got it all Doug! A big vote from me - I'd vote twice if it was ethical! Only thing I would change, is the wee line to the left of the ear about a quarter of the way up - it might show up more distractingly if you blew this up to A3 (which you should, and hang it on the wall). There must be yellow walls in corporate buildings crying out to have an image like this at A2 or bigger, have you tried approaching interior design consultancies locally?
