Initially a disaster with distracting background elements (even if blurred out with the f/5.6 setting) and especially on account of blown highlights (the dress) and shadows--contrasty to the maximum--Photoshop CS's shadow-highlight tool saved the day. 35% setting for shadow, 29% for the highlight, light "DigiEdge" sharpening.
