Jun 21: Licking his wounds

Poor Arch, I think he may have had a sting or two from the bees. To cut a long story short, Arch and I between us, quite inadvertently, managed to annoy the guard bees to the extent they chased us down the field. When we returned to the house, he was looking a bit sheepish. One by one, three bees freed themselves from from his fur and headed angrily to the window. A couple of others may have got through to his skin and popped him. Arch spent the rest of the afternoon licking his paws...

lesson learned: Bees get a bit touchy when bad weather keeps them in the hive... best avoid!

Good shot of Archie. I think he needs a treat to help speed along his recovery, poor Arch!

Blame Linda and David for the nasty bee's.
Poor Pooch.

Poor Arch indeed. For anyone out there who doesn't know it, Archie is of indeterminate age, having been a stray and therefore his history unknown. He is definitely "old" these days and has not only slowed down a lot (which may have led to his downfall in this shot by not running fast enough) but is also prone to getting stuck in corners because he can no longer reverse and falling down without being able to stand up again........he's still, and will always be "my lovely boy" though.

Oh, poor Archie!
I'd love to have seen you two running down the field, though... ;-)
