It's a little dragon, the red bit is supposed to be flames, I think.

Look at how she is looking at you! No blocks - just straight at you - really creates a very nice glow - excellent portrait, Colin.

Thanks for the comments - the lighting set-up was one flash down behind the subject pointing slightly up, maybe a touch overdone but I was going for the tousled just-got-up look :-)
I used another flash, heavily diffused, up in front right and a sheet of white card as a reflector on the left.
