Eddie after dinner

I love low light. Somehow it imparts an air of mystery to the most ordinary scenes. One of the things I love best about my Canon 40D is its ability to get pretty good resolution in low light situations. When I bought this camera last October I also bought the Tamron 17-50 mm f/2.8 lens. I have rarely used any other lens since then. So what's YOUR favorite lens? And how do you feel about low light conditions?

What a grand portrait.
The colours are luscious.
It is so tender, I feel I am intruding.
And the mellow lighting is a joy.
I am off to google the Tamron lens right now!

I love the range of light you captured in this shot.
Unfortunately, my three little cameras are all point and shoots. They do not have interchangeable lenses; so I must beg-off of some shooting opportunities. However, my lack of versatility makes me truly appreciate your ability to capture scenes like this.

The full benefit of each "f" stop is blurred by all the partial-stop values that one sees applied to lenses.
But I'm in your camp, Patricia. Fast lenses really help to open the whole world of "low light" and "available light".
