Thank you, Rodrigo. The Least Terns are nesting very close to the shoreline without the possibility of being washed away by waves at high tide which are tame compared to the winter season. State park employees have rushed by the nesting area in their vehicles with no apparent negative impact on the birds. I was most recently entertained by a tern very comfortable next to a black skimmer decoy in the nesting area. Be sure to head north from the pavilion or south from direct access to the beach when you hopefully visit the park very soon.

The fledglings are beautiful and well captured. How were you able to get so close?
