The Grotto
The cave is made up of three unequal openings: the largest one has become a place for celebrating Mass.
Above, and a little to the right, you can see an ogival or gothic-like crevice
where the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared 18 times to a young girl called Bernadette Soubirous
between 18th February and 16th July 1858.
