My mother and I took a trip to visit some old friends near McDonough, New York. My friend Ken offered to take me on a short hike to a bog area and i tool this photo there. The "ground" surface is sphagnum moss (very wet) and this flower (and many others like it) was growing there. It may be an orchid. I need to investigate more. Apparently this bog is known to botanists from several universities and it has a very unique eco-system. I need to investigate more.
