This was shot in complete darkness after manual focus and 3 off camera flash on cactus transmitters one above the ball gelled blue to accentuate the "eye" and one snooted to get high contrast features camera right at 60degrees, the last with umbrella for fill camera left at 45 degrees.

Interesting and creative picture. I like the light and sharpness which is sharp, but looking blurry in the same time.
