Inner Farne, Northumberland

Spent a great three hours on this little island which is home to puffins, shags, terns, razorbills and guillemots. We were lucky to get out there as the boat trips had not been operating the previous week due to unsuitable sea conditions. In the event Staple Island was not accessible for this reason.

We were slightly too early to see the puffins bringing in fish for their young, but by the middle of June this should be a common sight.
