Malacca was founded in the 1400's and many of its old buildings are slowly shedding its original features. I made this image of the rooftops from the historical heart of Malacca and we can see that some of the old roof shingles have been replaced by cheap corrugated zinc sheets. Even a TV satellite dish has cropped up in the midst of it. Despite its rich and significant history, Malaysia has failed to get Malacca listed as a World Heritage Site, and without some tight conservation measures, Malacca may one day lose all of its original charm.
