Nick Richardson and me at the Chamberlain's Court

The Freedom of the City of London is available at the cost of a few pounds to persons of any nationality. The applicant must be nominated by two sponsors who will be Common Councilmen of the City of London, Aldermen or members of a Livery Company. Such was the case here as a result of me joining the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists.

The ceremony is a very enjoyable one though and takes place in the Lord Chamberlain's Court. It is said that the first Freedom was granted around about 1237AD.

The picture shows my longtime friend Nick Richardson who came along to support me on the day
