Meadow-Rue, Thalictrum fendleri, male plant

Nodding clusters of yellow/purple flowers, smallish compound leaves, 3-4 ft. Thick
patches of this plant are found in seasonally wet areas in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Buttercup family, Ranunculaceae. Plants in this family have large clusters of stamens.

This species is dioecious; ie, any given plant has only male or female flowers.
