The sandbars come and go in lighthouse inlet. Now, 5/08, there's a big sandbar just to the west of the lighthouse, even at dead low tide. In this picture you can see the protective barrier that was built this winter at the base of the structure. We went in my 14 foot flat bottomed jon boat this past Sunday and had a wonderful morning. The puppies swam and wrestled each other and chased the shadows of seagulls across the sand.
