Mr Fedora

view map

Walking on Brighton beach one evening I saw this gentleman looking at what remains of the West Pier. He carefully took out a Rolleiflex Twin Lens Reflex and made some images of his own. I wonder what his came out like? I wanted to speak to him but he was so deep in thought I didn't like to interrupt. This photo was taken just before he began to take his and I'm guessing he was looking for the best angle.

This is a most beautiful image. He could also be gazing out to sea and reminiscing about times past or lost loves or opportunities - any number of things, all seeming melancholic.
Whatever the circumstances for him it's a profoundly deep image you've captured here. Big BRAVO!
