Still today, almost forty years since the flotation ended, large amount of sunken- and partially decomposed flotation timber litters the river.
Depending on what type of logs, some 1-3% were lost during the flotation. With 10 million logs transported annually, this adds up to vast numbers.... In particular considering that flotation was performed here since the 1800s.
