Tahitian outriggers as we can see them, are far closer to the genuine original
than the industrially made and perfectly polished outriggers on Hawaii. Sometimes
we have had the impression, that the more twisted the branch holding the outrigger
haul was, the greater was the pride of the canoe builder and owner.
