We're at Churston Station. An old branch line that runs old steam trains for tourists. We're catching a train down to Kingswear at the end of the line. Linda and her Mum, Ev, both self confessed worriers, sit down on a bench and I sense my photo op. I crouch down to frame my shot. Now, I'm a good 2 feet from the platform edge. There are no express trains on this line and the next steam train isn't due for 10 minutes. It's just about as safe a place as you could be.
Me: Smile please!
Linda: Careful you don't fall on the track.
Ev: Yes, you should be this side of the yellow line.
Linda: And your shoe lace is undone. (it wasn't)
Ev: Mind you don't fall over.
Me: Oh for f***s sake stop worrying and smile!
Linda cracks up, Ev looks shocked and I get my shot.
