Lest we forget...

Golden Gate National Cemetary, San Bruno, CA view map

This is a panorama of six horizontally oriented images. The stitched images were cropped vertically
to exclude a large segment of sky and to focus attention on the seemingly endless field of headstones.
The panorama has been post processed with CS3 and converted to infrared in the black and white adjustment panel.
~~~~~
At the end of 2007, there were 138,542 people interred here.
~~~~~
In the United States, 1 of 4 homeless persons is a veteran of military service.
Recent VA data indicates that veterans are twice as likely as other Americans to be chronically homeless.
It is reported that male veterans are 1.3 times more likely to become homeless than non-veteran males;
and female veterans are 3.6 times more likely to become homeless than non-veteran females.
It seems somehow a pity that we care for them better in death than while living.

Drive by it to the airport frequently, but have never been in. Well done. Thanks.

Nicely done image, and thanks for the background info. Absolutely shameless the way the flag-pin-on-the-lapel crowd in Congress struts and boasts about supporting the troops, and then completely shirks any responsibility for overseeing and fully funding the VA hospitals.

Great job with this panorama. The IR filter really ads a stark look to the place.
