The electricity post outside our front gate, where would we be without them! There'd be no power for the PC or anything else. Here is a section of it against a cloudy sky.

I could tell you a story about the post, how our previous little Jack Russell (Jacqui) saved our area from a bush fire in the heat of summer. We had allowed her to to sleep indoors this particular night, and she woke us barking as she had heard the start of a grass fire in the early hours of the morning. On checking the reason for the bark we discovered the fire and called the fire brigade, then the neighbours to alert them. The firemen discovered that a rat had climbed the post via a tree and had been electrocuted, caught alight and fallen from the post and started a fire in the dry grass at the base of the pole. This quickly spread down the paddock, but the brigade soon had it out! We were so lucky as the temperature was in the low 40's that night!
