Her Essence (painted with Marshall Oils)

L3b-Her Essence (Marshall oil paints and pencils)
1. I printed the image on the Bergger paper using the ICC profile and my Epson 4000 printer. Just used my typical printing method. The out put was pretty true to my screen even though I did not have the exact profile.
2. I taped the printed image to a matt board using removable tape.
3. I decided to color only portions of the image (wood on the chair, skirt, book and flowers).
4. I did the wood with a dark brown paint. I later went back with Marshall pencils to give a bit more definition.
5. I did an overall wash of the skirt with a blend of Chinese Blue and Titanium White for a pleasing soft blue. The actual skirt in the picture is more of a dark blue with white flowers. The blue in the folds of the skirt was a pleasing darker color.
6. I then sort of stippled white onto where the flowers are and then sort of dabbed it down to make it blend. This is sort of hard to explain. I just let the look of the image and flowers sort of guide my application.
7. I used the pencils to color the book (brown - two tones), the yellow flowers and green stems. I used a cotton wrapped stick to rub the pencil application to blend the colors.

QUESTION: I am now not sure if I should treat the finished image with a spray or not. I will be asking this question in class.
