Spring came to Michigan today and I joined everyone else in going outside to welcome it with open arms! I scooted around doing photography-related errands for almost four hours and enjoyed every minute of it. And, yes, I saw and photographed my first spring flowers--snowdrops. This composite uses not that photo but one I took of a flat of pansies outside a local nursery. It also includes the surface patterns from a large rock I saw in the yard of an apartment complex...and, of course, one of my Winter Nudes.
My first stop was Kinkos where I needed to have a CD of 15 images from my "Edward Hopper visits my home" gallery converted into a .zip file. I am hoping to take an advanced workshop with the photographer David Alan Harvey at what looks like a fabulous photography event in Charlottesville, Virginia this June. The workshop runs six days and is called "The Photographic Essay." It is limited to 18 participants and requires that one submit a portfolio to Harvey to see if you'll be accepted into the workshop. This and three other workshops are being sponsored by LOOK 3: Festival of the Photograph being held in Charlottesville June 12-14. CLICK HERE to read all about it. I've already got my motel reservations for the week--the workshop starts June 7--and think it would be VERY COOL if we had a PBase meet-up there! Let me know if you're interested.
