Here are a few well-behaved boys enjoying "arts and crafts".
They loved to make things out of construction paper and sparkles.
This was the usual classroom situation. It might looked staged,
but it is not (except for nailing the boys down to their seats).
The classroom was segregated so that the young girls would not
be envious of the boys' work. The girls also had the bad habit
of running around in the classroom and disrupting the otherwise
placid learning environment.
Elmer's glue was a favorite. For most kids the word "non-toxic" meant
"if you eat it by accident, you won't have to have your stomach pumped".
For Danny it meant "low calorie snack food".
