The hanging bamboo plates are tuned by carving the backside, and if a key is mistuned, a good player will avoid it while playing and exchange the keyboard before performing the next piece.

Ist einmal ein Ton des "Patala" verstimmt, vermeidet der Spieler im weiteren Verlauf des Stückes den falschen Ton und tauscht vor dem nächsten Stück das gesamte "Keyboard" einfach aus.
