The Lady of the Lake appreciates
French mint candies
of the old Lady from Cambrai.

They say that in the middle of 19th century
an apprentice confectioner made a mistake preparing some candies,
which had been ordered.
His mother shouted at him angrily:
“You did all wrong with your candies, they are spoilt!
You did a foolish thing once again!”
But these refreshing candies had a great success
and they were called “Bętises”,
foolish tricks, because they were the result of a mistake.
