Connection

I passed over my neighbor's "Costco Connection" magazine
in the stairway. Didn't think much of it. Next day, it was still
there and I said to myself, "Hey, old man Ditka!" laughed, and
walked passed it.

Next day, it was still there and I said to myself, "Something's
not right about this photo..."

What is it? Well look at the title "Why Is This Man Smiling?"
Well, unless my eyes are deceiving me, Mike Ditka doesn't look
like he's smiling in the photo! Sure, he may have a (very) slight
smirk, a game face, but I wouldn't say he was smiling.

Observation: We all know it, but this once again reminded me of the
power of words, written or spoken, to influence. I seriously
doubt the "Costco Connection" would have any profound effect
on the world, but imagine what the media is doing to you.

Counterpoint: Ok, so a smile is a subjective thing, like was the Mona Lisa
really smiling? Ok, so Mike is smiling!!...Maybe? :-)

Note: Mike Ditka was the Legendary coach of the Chicago Bears football team.

For Ditka, this is almost a belly laugh! Interesting caption, Sam.

Similar to smilling face of East people (for me)as Russian or Polish .The smile is not the real sense for everybody, certain smile is an expression of power, domination.Sure it is not the smile of SAM and not mine...
